LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 10-hour SWAT situation ended peacefully in northwest Las Vegas. Metro Police took a man into custody around 9:30 p.m. Officers originally responded to the domestic disturbance call in the 3600 block of Winterhaven St. near Gowan and Rainbow around 11:20 a.m.

Police said an armed man was inside of an apartment.

8 News Now talked to several residents who were kept out of their homes because of the investigation.

“About 3:30, that side of the street was already blocked off. There were about; I want to say, 7-10 cop cars and three or four undercovers. Once we left, they told us we were not allowed to come back into the neighborhood,” said Jazzmine Tafoia. “They were going to try and get as many people out, but nobody was allowed back in.”

No injuries have been reported. Police reopened the area around 11 p.m. Wednesday night.
