Star Wars fans celebrate May the 4th around the Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Star Wars fans and families paid homage to a galaxy far, far away around the Las Vegas valley.

May the Fourth, or Star Wars Day, is celebrated across the globe on May 4th every year and Las Vegas had several community events for locals to show their fandom.

At the Henderson Pavilion, a thrilling lightsaber duel took place onstage just before the start of the 7:00 p.m. screening of The Empire Strikes Back, the second of the original Star Wars trilogy. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca face attack by the Imperial forces, and Jedi master Yoda helped Luke survive the call from the dark side of the Force.
