LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Locals will tell you that while snow isn’t a common sight in Las Vegas, we have seen several winter storms the past few years. Some even brought snow to the Strip.
Earlier Monday, snow and rain caused quite the stir. People were excited to see snow flurries in the air and snow on the ground.
I-15 was closed in both directions between Primm, Nevada, and Baker, California, at one point, but later reopened when roads cleared. The closure lasted around three hours due to dangerous road conditions caused by snow and rain.
At the Las Vegas sign, the weather kept most people away. 8 News Now did find one gentleman from out of town, though, not expecting the cooler temperatures.
“I was expecting it to be mid-60s to 70s maybe, but yeah, definitely not snow and freezing like Chicago,” said visitor Robert Qahaar.
We could see more snow fall tonight.
