Less than five years after its $415 million debut — major renovations are underway at the SLS Las Vegas. From a brand new casino floor to hotel rooms being completely gutted.
“We have a lot of exciting things coming online very shortly,” said Paul Hobson, president & general manager, SLS Las Vegas.
The $100 million renovation at the SLS Las Vegas, also includes a total revamp of the 60-thousand square-foot casino.
“We’re bringing in a proper ceiling, some great lights, some artful column finishes, colorful casino carpet, that we really think sets a new tone and creates a really great environment,” Hobson said.
Hobson says it’s all about creating a bright atmosphere that extends to the spa, which has been remodeled to be warmer and more inviting.
Major room re-designs are happening too.
“What we have right now is a little bit industrial, a little bit warehouse-y — and this is the after; complete with new carpet designs and fun bathroom art,” Hobson said. “It’s about being inclusive.”
A new Mexican restaurant will also share the same theme of accessibility and welcomeness.
“Really high-energy, fun, quick serve type of opportunity for us,” said Anthony Olheiser, the VP of Food & Beverage, SLS Las Vegas.
It will be called Uno Mas, and it will have original tacos and horchata. It’s meant to be enjoyed more than once.
“I think we’ve got some tremendous fine dining restaurants here on property, and I think we just need to evaluate some of the casual options here and really elevate that experience,” Olheiser said.
The renovations are a labor of love for the SLS team. They hope it gratifies guests and boosts business.
“It is a great opportunity that will drive future revenues and better results,” Hobson said.
