A Las Vegas valley elementary school teacher is facing charges of possession and distribution of pornography of a minor.

James Russell, 49, a teacher at Sandy Searles Miller Elementary School was arrested on March 11.

According to Russell’s arrest report, investigators were notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children it received a report from FLICKR that pornographic images with a child had been uploaded to one of its accounts.

Investigators were able to track the account to Russell, the report said.

The images showed a boy in the nude and in staged poses which investigators determined to be inappropriate.

According to the report, Russell admitted he was the owner of the FLICKR account but said he didn’t know how the photos got uploaded to that account.

Russell identified the boy in the images as his son at 9-years-old, who is now an adult. He told police he did not know who took the pictures of his son, the report said.

Investigators were able to link one of the photos to being taken in an apartment where Russell lived in 2009.

Russell’s bail was set at $20,000 and he is due in court on March 14.
