The landscape downtown continues to evolve.
Earlier this year, a $32 million project was announced for the Fremont St. canopy and it’s just one of several changes visitors, tourists will soon see.
Boyd Gaming Corporation recently filed paperwork to expand the Fremont Hotel. The expansion could include a new 320-foot tall hotel tower and hundreds of rooms.
“When I was here the last time, I really didn’t get to explore the area that much, especially the Strip. I heard it was really crowded on the Strip, which I’m not surprised. Not so crowded here,” said Nick Noah.
Noah said he’s excited to see Fremont St. get more attention. The newest addition could be near 3rd and Ogden. There’s a proposal to expand the Fremont Hotel by more than 610,000 square feet.
“I think it’s cleaned up nice. I think it has a lot of new shops and restaurants. It has a nice vibe,” said Mike Murgic.
Near the 1st St. stage, the iconic Plaza Hotel is set to welcome guests with remodeled rooms and a brand new experience.
“I think it’s great. Its bringing in a lot of new people. We did take a drive down on the outskirts and the outer towns. A lot of new construction and new homes,” said Noah.
Downtown is once again reinventing itself to make sure the entertainment capital of the world will keep welcoming millions of visitors for years to come.
