Metro Police investigated the first fatal crash of the new year Wednesday.
Police said the crash at E. Charleston Boulevard and N. Christy Lane involved a pedestrian and a vehicle.
According to officers, a man was hit while crossing the street. The driver stayed at the scene and waited for police to arrive.
No other information was released. Drivers should avoid the area because the roads will be closed while Metro Police investigates.
