UPDATE: Police investigating deadly stabbing at Indian Hills Apartments

Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police are investigating a homicide in the area of West Sahara Avenue and Arville Street. It happened at the Indian Hills Apartment Complex on Sunday.

Police responded just after 5 p.m. to reports of a stabbing. They say they got the call of two men fighting in the parking lot. One of the men — a 20-year-old Hispanic man — was found dead from a stab wound.

LVMPD Homicide Detectives later learned that the victim got involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified Hispanic male adult who was speeding through the complex in a blue SUV.

At the same time, there were several children playing in the area. According to witnesses, the vehicle drove near the kids, causing the eventual victim to yell at the driver. The driver then stopped, got out and got into a physical fight with the victim. The driver then stabbed the victim.

After the stabbing the suspect got back in the vehicle and drove away.

Police do not believe the two men knew each other.

“The victim, we believe is visiting a family member inside the apartment complex,” says Lt. Ray Spencer. “As far as the suspect, we are still trying to determine that right now.”
