Coroner identifies victims found shot, killed in SUV near downtown Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Clark County Coroner identified 24-year-old Dae’Shawn King and 23-year-old Edna Reyes as the victims found shot and killed in an SUV near downtown Las Vegas on July 29. Their deaths were ruled homicides, caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

The early morning shooting near Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road. Police say they received reports of gunfire in the area around 12:34 a.m.

The shooting occurred in the 2400 block of McWilliams Avenue.

Officers discovered the victims in a silver SUV that had crashed into the wall of a residence. King, who was in the driver’s seat, was dead on scene. Reyes was taken to UMC Trauma. She later died.

According to Metro Homicide Detectives, the victims were driving in the area when they pulled up to an unidentified suspect on foot. After a conversation between both parties, the victims drove away. The suspect then fired several rounds and struck them.

The suspect fled before police arrived.
