Two people are dead in what Metro Police detectives are calling an apparent murder-suicide.
It happened around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday morning on Eastern Ave. at Hacienda Ave., east of McCarran Airport. A driver called 911 after witnessing a car crash in the southbound lanes of Eastern. The driver ran to check on the occupants, and discovered the bloody scene inside.

“That person who witnessed the accident… noticed glass shattered in the vehicle’s windshield,” said Metro Lt. Ray Spencer. “At that point, medical arrived with police officers who observed two people in the vehicle. Both were deceased.”
Lt. Spencer said the man and woman in the vehicle were both believed to be in their 20’s. Their names were not released, pending an investigation by the county coroner. Detectives recovered one gun inside the vehicle.
Police could not immediately say where the string of violence began or how it started.
Eastern Avenue was closed in both directions between Hacienda and Russell until around 8:15 a.m.
