LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman was found dead in a west valley apartment Wednesday when her concerned mother went to check on her, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan police.

The investigation led by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated that the victim was dropped
off at her apartment by a family member the night before.

The next day, family members were unable to reach the victim by phone so they conducted a welfare check.

Around 7:44 p.m., officers said they received a call from a woman who said she found her daughter in the apartment with an apparent stab wound.

The apartment is located in the 7400 block of West Charleston Boulevard near Buffalo Drive.

Police said arriving officers and medical personnel found a woman in her 30s in the back of the apartment suffering from a stab wound. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are looking into the suspicious death.
