Metro Police have arrested six suspects in the past two weeks they say are involved in recent auto burglaries in Chinatown.
Metro Lt. Joshua Bitsko said there have been around 100 car break-ins in Chinatown in the past year. On Feb. 18, officers were able to conduct surveillance and observe the suspects as they allegedly targeted cars for break-ins. The following day, officers saw three more suspects doing the same activity.
Lt. Joshua Bitsko said the two groups are not related. He is asking the public to share any information and be vigilant.
“When you come to any shopping mall, any district, anywhere there’s lots of vehicles and you’re going to leave your vehicle unattended, what I ask is you take your valuables out of the car. Let’s not leave valuables inside and also lock the car. Take your keys with you.”
