It’s was a rare sight in southern Nevada as parts of the Las Vegas valley saw heavy snowfall that stayed on the ground.
The valley saw anywhere from 1 to 2 1/2 inches of snow.
I-15 was closed between St. Rose Parkway and the Nevada/California border for nearly five hours due to ice and numerous crashes.
Red Rock Canyon Loop was also closed in the morning hours but did reopen around noon.
Temperatures will remain cooler this week, even dropping to freezing in the overnight hours. There is a possibility of more snow later in the week.
