Metro Police are searching for two people wanted in connection with a crime spree targeting the elderly. On Wednesday night, four others, all juveniles, were taken into custody.
According to Metro Police, the group is responsible for a carjacking caught on camera Tuesday. A 78-year-old man was beaten before his car was stolen.
Police said the group is also responsible for a carjacking in the Peccole Ranch area and an attempted carjacking in a strip mall on Sahara near Fort Apache. However, a Good Samaritan stepped in and prevented the suspects inside from driving off.
Samuel Metcalf, the owner of Red Rock Springs Water, said the hero is his elderly customer. He said the man blocked the vehicle with his vehicle.
“I can tell you I wish it was my quote but it’s not. For evil to exist, good people must do nothing, And my customer is a hero because he stood up, so he stood up against evil. I think he’s amazing,” Metcalf told the I-Team.
He said the suspects walked away while bystanders called the police.
The I-Team has learned at least two of the juveniles taken into custody could be charged as adults. Based on the accusations against them, the Clark County District Attorney’s Office could move to ask the court to certify them as adults.
Again Metro Police are still looking for two suspects in the elderly carjacking, including the one seen in the photo below wearing the whit T-shirt.
