Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The 8 News NOW I-Team has obtained body camera video of the moment a former Metro Police detective was taken into custody for allegedly killing her ex-son-in-law. Pamela Bordeaux is still behind bars accused of murder.

The I-Team obtained exclusive body camera video of the 55-year-old answering questions asked by police as she was being placed in handcuffs.

Metro Officer: “Is Sean down?”
Bordeaux: “Yes.”
Metro Officer: “Is he 419?”
Bordeaux: “I don’t know.”
Metro Officer: “Does he appear like he’s dead?”
Bordeaux: “I don’t know.”
Metro Officer: “Is he moving?”
Bordeaux: “I don’t think so.”
Metro Officer: “Do you hear any moaning? Anything like that?”
Bordeaux: “No.”
Metro Officer: “No?”

Sean Babbit, 32, was Bordeaux’s former son-in-law who was on a court approved one hour visit with her grandchild before he was killed.
Investigators say her daughter and the child were upstairs while Babbit and Bordeuax were downstairs.

Metro Officer: “Is he holding the gun or is the gun near him?”
Bordeuax: “It was my gun.”
Metro Officer: “It was your gun?  Where is it at?” Did you shoot him or did he shoot himself?
Bordeuax: “I’m always armed when he comes. I shot him.”
Metro Officer: “Huh? You shot him?”

Bordeuax nods her head to answer yes.

According to a medical examiner, Babbit was shot as many as 18 times. Bordeaux is charged with his murder.  Bordeaux’s Attorney Robert Draskovich told the I-Team Bordeaux acted reasonably under the circumstances “given Babbit’s history of sexual deviance.”  However, it is still unclear what may have led to that deadly shooting.

Bordeaux’s next court date is set for June.
