One man is dead and two other people hurt following an overnight collision between a motorcycle and a car the central valley. It happened just before 10 p.m. at S. Decatur Blvd and W. Oakey Boulevard.

Metro investigator Sgt. Robert Stauffer said the motorcycle was headed northbound on Decatur, when the driver of a Ford Mustang turned onto Oakey. The motorcycle struck the right front part of the Mustang, ejecting both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle.  The driver, a 25-year-old man, died at the scene. His passenger, a 28-year-old woman, was rushed to UMC Trauma with serious injuries.  The Mustang driver, a 20-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

Police do not believe the driver of the Mustang was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Investigators could not immediately say if the motorcycle driver was impaired, but did say they were looking at the possibility that speed played a factor in the crash.

The name of the deceased motorcycle driver will be released after his family is notified.
