LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Clark County Coroner identified Eugene Bluford, 74, as the man who died a week after being hit by a car in the southeast Valley. His death was ruled accidental, caused by multiple blunt force injuries.

The incident occurred near Boulder Highway and South Nellis on July 15.

Police say Bluford succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

He was crossing Boulder Highway outside of a marked crosswalk when a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze struck him, forcing him to the ground. Medical crews transported him to Sunrise Hospital.

Authorities note the driver of the Chevrolet remained on scene and was not impaired.

Bluford’s death is the 53rd traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
