On the other side of Desert Inn, “Area 15” hopes to prevail

Local News

“Area 15” unveiled the next phase of its 200,000 sq. ft. entertainment complex Tuesday night.

The site is located near Desert Inn and Valley View. It’s expected to host festivals, eSport tournaments and art installations.

“We feel that we’re on the other side of the moon and we feel that the other side of the moon is going to be the best darn party in the whole city,” said Michael Beneville, Founder and Creative Director of Area 15.

The renderings show a retail, art, and entertainment complex that will weave immersive experiences, themed events, and nightlife together.

“We’re seven minutes from the strip. That’s the most amazing place in the world right over there,” said Beneville.

The “A” on the front entrance of the complex was revealed Tuesday night. The “A” weighs 2.5 tons and required more than 300 manhours to fabricate.

“We see this ‘A’ as representing something brand new in retail and entertainment,” said Area 15 CEO Winston Fisher. “We got fire, we got lasers, and as I said it’s the portal into the new economy of the 21st century.”

On any given night, the project could bring in as many as 300 jobs.

“What the Strip doesn’t have is 900 free parking spots, what the Strip doesn’t have is this large 30,000 sq. ft. outdoor venue,” said Beneville. “Places also where we can just really experience with art.”

Area 15 is set to open in December.
