UPDATE: Teen shot, killed near Carey and Las Vegas Boulevard; ‘not a random act,’ police say

NORTH LAS VEGS (KLAS) — A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Monday night near Carey and Las Vegas Boulevard.

North Las Vegas Police say around 8:30 p.m., police responded to calls of an injured person in the 2300 block of North Daley Street.

When officers arrived, they found the teenage boy, identified by the Coroner’s Office as Sebastian Parra, dead from an apparent shooting.

Detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation unit are pursuing leads.

Police said the shooting is not believed to be a random act of violence, but they are not releasing more information at this time. 

“To help protect the integrity of the case, suspect or arrest information is not available at this time,” the department stated in a news release on Tuesday.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim, and the cause and manner of death, after proper notification to next of kin.
