New Year babies born at 2 different Henderson hospitals

The first babies of the New Year wear both born in Henderson.  The first little bundle of joy, a beautiful baby girl by the name of Melialani, was born at 12:10 a.m. at Henderson Hospital.

She weighed 6-pounds, 11-ounces, and was 20-inches long.  Melialani’s parents are Shereen and Jacob of Henderson. 

The second beautiful baby was born at Dignity Health – St. Rose Dominican hospital in southern Nevada was delivered at 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2019.

A news release from the hospital said baby Olivia Nori, born to parents Acacia LaPlante and Antonio Balasquide, arrived at 2:30 a.m. at Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican, Siena Campus. She is 19.5 inches long and weighs 8 lbs. 2 oz. Mother and baby are doing well. Father is excited and exhausted.

Olivia’s parents work in the travel and hospitality industry. Her mother is a life-long Las Vegan. This is the couple’s first child together, but Olivia does have an older brother named Elliot to look out for her.
