New charges for ex-teacher accused of Catholic school threat

Local News

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Bail was increased to $50,000 for a 56-year-old former physical education teacher arrested outside a bar while he was on bail after being charged with threatening a Catholic school.

Records show that Todd Duane Pomeroy remained Friday at the Clark County jail, a day after a judge said that if he posts bail he’ll have to wear an electronic monitoring device.

Pomeroy is due in court May 21 in the school threats case.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Pomeroy was arrested Monday on intimidation, battery and disorderly conduct charges after police say he threatened and spit on an officer who found Pomeroy throwing rocks at a southeast Las Vegas bar where he had been ejected.

Pomeroy was charged last month with leaving threatening voice messages at St. Viator Catholic School.
