Nevada’s state song – played on a flute!

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) – It’s become a tradition on the 8NewsNow “Good Day Las Vegas” program.

Traffic Anchor Nate Tannenbaum, who’s played the flute since he was in 5th grade, breaks out the instrument to play the state song “Home Means Nevada” on the annual observance of the Silver State’s become the country’s 36th state.

This morning he mentioned that some adults may not be familiar with the tune, so he put the lyrics up for viewers to follow along.

Anchors John Langeler, Heather Mills and Forecaster Sherry Swensk joined in the conversation about the song, including some tantalizing tidbits about the composer of “Home Means Nevada.” [see the video connected to this story]
