LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A picture of a small dog running in the I-15 northbound lanes near Washington Avenue and being saved by an NHP trooper and several citizens is getting a lot of social media attention.

The incident unfolded on Wednesday, April 17 just before 5 p.m. and NHP posted pictures of the dog and it went viral.

In an effort to save the dog from being hit by a vehicle, the troopers and citizens were able to coral the dog and capture it. The dog is currently at the the Animal Foundation and is on a 10-day quarantine because the dog bit one of the troopers.

According to NHP, the dog owner has come forward and can claim the dog after the quarantine.
