Metro wants public’s help identifying man accused of beating, robbing 75-year-old

Metro Police is looking for the public’s help in identifying and finding a man accused of beating and robbing a 75-year-old woman.

According to Metro Police, everything unfolded on March 16 around 8:30 p.m.  Officers said the woman was outside her car at a business located in the 900 block of South Rampart Blvd. when she was attacked.

Metro said the woman was putting her 6-year-old grandson in the backseat of her car when all of a sudden she felt someone strike her in the back of the head with an object.  The suspect stole the woman’s purse before fleeing in a Nissan SUV that was waiting nearby.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives arrested 30-year old Deundra Lewis who was the driver of the getaway vehicle.  Detectives are now requesting the public’s help to find the second suspect who committed the robbery. 

The suspect is described as a black male adult in his late 20s-30s with short hair and a goatee.
