Metro Police served a search warrant Wednesday at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority offices. The search warrant is in regards to an investigation into the misuse of Southwest Airlines gift cards bought.
Back in June, the CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority at the time, Rossi Ralenkotter, announced his retirement.
His announcement came amid a controversy over the misuse of thousands of dollars in the airline gift cards.
On Wednesday night, the LVCVA sent the following statement:
“The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is currently in the Las Vegas Convention Center building,” said Steve Hill, CEO, and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “Their presence is in conjunction with a Southwest Airlines gift card audit, and we are cooperating with all LVMPD requests. We look forward to a swift resolution of this matter so that we can continue to focus on our mission of bringing millions of visitors annually to our destination.”
