Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro Police say a man is dead after a road rage shooting in the northeast Valley. The incident occurred on North Pecos Road and Las Vegas Boulevard Friday mid-morning.

Sgt. Jon Scott of Metro’s Homicide Section says 911 received a call from residents in the area reporting shots fired around 11 a.m.

When officers arrived on scene, they found two people shot in an office complex in the 2900 block of North Pecos. One individual was dead, and another suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower extremities was transported to UMC. They are expected to survive.

Scott says the road rage incident progressed into one person being chased by two others into the complex. They went inside, shots were exchanged, and then there was a struggle.

Police do not believe anyone is outstanding and that they have all involved in custody. They are currently working to determine who the victims and suspects are.

At this point in the investigation, Scott says they do not believe the parties knew each other. One individual had a handgun, and they are working to determine who it belonged to.

They say a total of three people were involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
