Metro: Women involved in Palms Place murder-suicide were in romantic relationship

Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two women were found dead in a room at Palms Place, located inside the Palms Casino Resort, Tuesday afternoon. The incident was deemed a murder-suicide.

Around 3 p.m., Metro responded to reports of the deceased individuals found in a hotel room.

Hotel security went to the unit after the guests did not check out. When they arrived, they weren’t able to get into the room, as the security lock was engaged. Maintenance assisted and was able to forcibly open the door.

Spencer says the women were Black, mid- to late 30s, found laying on the bed. Information indicates they are local.

The incident likely occurred within 12 hours of when the bodies were found, with at least one of the individuals alive around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. Police say evidence points to the suspect shooting the victim before turning the gun on herself.

According to an update from police, the women were in a romantic relationship. They’d been staying in the room together.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release their identities, as well as causes and manners of death, at a later time.
