LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro Police are currently investigating a homicide in the southeast portion of the Las Vegas valley.
It happened in the 6000 block of Boulder Highway, just south of Tropicana Avenue.
After the preliminary investigation, police say the shooting happened following an altercation between two men around 9:15 p.m. Sunday.
Police say the victim was a resident at a motel in the area. He got into an argument with another unknown man.
During that altercation, the suspect and the victim each pulled a gun. Metro Lt. Ray Spencer said many shots were fired between the two men.
There was also a vehicle that left the area shortly after the shooting, but police are not sure if it is connected to the crime.
The victim is described as a black male in his 40s, while the suspect is believed to be a black male between 18-22 years old.
