LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Clark County Coroner identified Marquinn Hilliard, 20, as the man shot and killed at a party Jan. 2. His death was ruled a homicide, caused by a gunshot wound of the chest.

This is the first homicide of 2021 in Metro’s jurisdiction.

It happened at an apartment complex on Dunsbach Way, near Lake Mead and Hollywood Boulevards in the northeast valley. Around 9:45 p.m., officers responded to over a dozen calls about gunshots heard during a party at the apartment.

When they arrived, they found Hilliard suffering from “at least one gunshot wound.” He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have limited information on potential suspects. Officials say the victim had been at the party for less than 15 minutes when the shooting happened.

“There were a lot of people at the party, however we don’t have information right now regarding a suspect, so I urge anyone to please reach out,” said LVMPD Lt. Ray Spencer.

Those with any information on the shooting are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555, or leave a tip on the website. There is reward money available.
