Metro officer dies during Christmas holidays while on vacation in Mexico

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Boulder City Police Department (BCPD) provided new information on their Facebook page on the death and funeral services of Metro Officer Briar Huff.

According to a post on Huff passed away on Christmas Day while vacationing with her family in Mexico.

The department also noted that Huff had served as former Boulder City Marshal . She came from a family of law enforcement, she was wife of BCPD Officer Todd Huff and sister to Metro Officer Dustin Osborne. 

“Her passing is devastating to all the BCPD, BC Court, and LVMPD families. We will always remember her contagious laugh and smile, fun-filled spirited, and dedication to public service,” noted the BCPD post.

Earlier last week, Metro police confirmed Huff’s death but did not provide further details on her passing.  

SERVICES

Services for the officer will be on Tuesday, Jan. 4 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Boulder City Family Mortuary on 833 Nevada Way Suite 1 in Boulder City, Nevada.

A procession is planned for 9:30 a.m. that will begin at the mortuary and will head Northbound (true West) on Boulder City Parkway, South (left) on Veteran’s Memorial Drive, and ending at Boulder Creek Golf Course Pavilion where funeral services are planned at 10:00 a.m.

Officer Huff leaves behind a young son, a husband and other family and friends.
