LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro Police are investigating a homicide near Charleston and Palm Street in the northeast valley. The incident occurred in the 3400 block of Center Drive.

Lt. Ray Spencer says around 6:30 p.m., Metro received a 911 call, regarding a man who had reportedly been shot at an apartment complex. The victim, described as a white male in his early 30s, was transported to UMC Trauma. He was later pronounced dead.

Spencer says the man was in the back of the apartment building with a female, when an unknown, Black or light-skinned Hispanic male approached them. Multiple shots were fired, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

This investigation is ongoing, and Spencer says all details are preliminary.

“Anytime something like this would happen, I just urge people to stay inside, call the police, report the incident and just be a good witness,” the lieutenant said.

Police urge anyone with information to call 311. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 or on their website.

Spencer says they aren’t sure if the victim and the suspect knew each other or what led to the shooting.
