LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is dead after a shooting near Warm Springs and Durango in the southwest valley. The incident occurred at the Clubs at Rhodes Ranch apartment complex on Warm Springs.
According to Metro Homicide Lt. Ray Spencer, a Black male — later identified as 19-year-old James Baugh — in his late teens arrived at the complex around 4 p.m. He parked, exited his vehicle and met with two other Black males.
During the meeting, an altercation ensued, leading one of the other males to shoot and kill Baugh. He was transported to UMC Trauma, where he was pronounced deceased.
Spencer says the suspect fled. He is believed to be in his late teens to early 20s.
Police are currently obtaining surveillance video and interviewing witnesses. They do not know at this time if any of those involved lived at the complex.
