Metro investigates 2 separate barricades in 2 different areas

Metro Police are investigating two different barricades in two different areas. According to Metro Police, the incidents that sparked both barricades happened 15 minutes apart.

The first one started around 2:15 p.m. in the southeast valley.  Detectives were investigating to see if possible robbery suspects were in the 4000 block of Boulder Highway, and they were.  

Metro said one person was detained and another fled to a storage unit facility in the 4500 block of Boulder Highway.  Officers surrounded the area, and eventually, aroud 7 p.m., the suspect surrendered.

The second incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. when detectives were doing an investigative follow-up in the 4300 block of W. Oakey Boulevard.  

Detectives had a marked patrol unit conduct a vehicle stop on a suspect who then fled.  The suspect crashed his car and took off on foot into a neighborhood near El Camino and Palmyra.

Officers believe the suspect broke into a house where he is barricaded, and refusing to come out.

No other details were released.
