Republicans and Democrats alike have called for the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Donald Trump’s possible collusion with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Politics NOW Co-host Patrick Walker spoke with President Trump’s chief campaign spokesman Wednesday to talk about the report’s findings.
Patrick Walker, Politics Now Co-host: “What is the administration’s stance as far as the level of involvement by the Kremlin or other Russian officials in the election in ’16?”
Marc Lotter, Director of Strategic Communications, Trump Campaign: “Well, the president and the intelligence communities have been pretty clear multiple times over that they know that there were Russian actors and other actors that were attempting to disrupt and cause disruptions in the electoral process, through misinformation and other means. But that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign, or the president himself, and, any actor doing that.”
8 News NOW will air the full interview on this week’s Politics NOW with Steve Sebelius and Patrick Walker Saturday at 4:30 p.m. on Channel 8.
