Vladimir Lagerev had a parole hearing Thursday morning for the 2009 DUI crash that killed 18-year-old UNLV student Lindsay Bennett.
This is his second parole hearing. He began serving an eight to 20-year sentence in Jan. 2011. He is now 55-years-old and says he wants to reconnect with his 10-year-old daughter.
He told the board he made a terrible mistake and asked the family for forgiveness.
It takes four of the seven commissioners to grant or deny parole. A final vote is expected in the next two or three weeks.
If granted, Lagerev could be out in May.
