LAS VEGAS (KLAS) —  A man was shot and killed by a Metro Police officer Tuesday night at a home in the Las Vegas Country Club.

Metro Capt. Nichole Splinter said officers were dispatched shortly after 7 p.m. to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 3100 block of Bel Air Drive, near Desert Inn and Maryland Parkway. Officers found a woman who they believed was hurt during a fight. Shortly after, a man came out of the house with a gun, shouted obscenities at officers, and put the gun to his own head, according to Capt. Splinter.

One Metro officer fired multiple shots, killing the man.

This is the eigth officer involved shooting in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2019.  Metro police are expected to release more details, including the name of the officer, the man shot and killed, and any available body-worn camera video.
