Man found dead at Lake Mead National Recreation Area ID’d by coroner

The man who was found dead Friday at Lake Mead National Recreation Area has been identified as Todd Michael Hemphill, the Clark County Coroner’s office said.

According to officials at Lake Mead, at 2:16 p.m., the Lake Mead Interagency Communication Center received a report that a man on a boat at Las Vegas Boat Harbor was possibly deceased. 

National Park Service rangers responded and confirmed the 48-year-old man was dead.

The incident is under investigation. The Clark County Medical Examiner will eventually release the cause of death.
