Man dead in possible drowning at Lake Mead

A man whose body was pulled from Lake Mead Sunday is believed to have died in a possible drowning on Saturday while swimming.

The man disappeared under the water near Sand Island around 4:40 p.m. on Sept. 1.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dive Team, National Park Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife recovered the man’s body Sunday.

His cause of death will be determined by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. He was not wearing a life jacket.
