LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man accused of killing Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer Truong Thai was supposed to appear in court Wednesday but his preliminary hearing was delayed for two weeks due to scheduling conflicts.

Officer Truong Thai was killed in a shooting while answering a call for a domestic disturbance on Oct. 13, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. (LVMPD)

Prosecutors said Tyson Hampton, 24, murdered Officer Thai while he responded to a domestic disturbance call on Oct. 13, 2022. He faces 28 charges including open murder.

There will be a status check on the case on Jan. 25.
