A man charged with killing an 8-year-old girl in Bullhead City in 2014 has pleaded guilty to her murder.

Justin James Rector, 30, was staying in the family’s home when Isabella Grogan-Cannella disappeared. Her body was found in a grave the following day.

Rector, who was going to represent himself in court on a first degree murder charge, entered his guilty plea in Mohave County Superior Court Tuesday.

According to the court, he will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 35 years. As part of the agreement for his plea, the charges of kidnapping, child abuse, abandonment of a body and assaulting a jail officer were dropped.
