A famous Las Vegas valley landmark turns blue to show support for law enforcement.
Blue bulbs temporarily surround the famous “Welcome to Fabuous Las Vegas” sign. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation and Clark County Commissioners ceremoniously lit the sign Thursday.
The switch recognizes officers efforts to keep the community safe as part of the “Go True Blue” campaign. The cause encourages everyone to thank officers for their service.
“I just think it’s so important to again, not just today or this month, but everyday. It’s nice to have these occasions but we need to be sure that everyday we’re thanking law enforcement and all of our emergency service providers for what they do,” said County Commissioner Michael Naft.
Wednesday was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. A lot of the Strip turned blue including the High Roller to honor the men and women who serve.
