LAS VEGAS (KLAS)– Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcyclist in the east valley.
It happened on Eastern north of Reno Avenue at approximately 4:08 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to witnesses, surveillance video, and evidence at the scene police believe the motorcyclist was headed south on Eastern in the outside travel lane when the crash happened.
The driver of a 2009 Mercury Milan failed to yield the right of way and turned left into the motorcyclist’s travel path, police stated.
The rider, a 32-year-old man, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.
The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries and remained at the scene showing no signs of impairment during field sobriety tests, police said.
The motorcyclist’s death marks the 113th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2022.
The collision remains under investigation by police.
