A woman charged with murder and child abuse is now facing even more charges. It’s a story the I-Team first broke.
Crystal Stephens was indicted by a Clark County grand jury for the murder and abuse of 4-year-old Brandon Steckler last year.
Stephen’s was caring for him but isn’t his mother.
She initially told police she found him limp and unconscious and believed he drowned but prosecutors say he also had numerous injuries and died the next day.
In addition to the murder charges, she now faces two dozen counts of child abuse and/or neglect, sexual assault and kidnapping.
She is being held without bail.
The I-Team also learned Child Protective Services in Nevada was contacted with concerns four times about Stephens.
The claims were investigated only twice though and were found to be unsubstantiated.
