I-Team: Coroner releases cause of death for child in Cierre Wood case

Local News

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — LaRayah Davis, 5, died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Former NFL player Cierre Wood, 28, has been arrested in this case and faces charges of murder, child abuse and neglect.

He and Amy Taylor, 26, who is also facing child abuse and neglect charges in this case, appeared in court Friday morning. It was revealed in court, Taylor will likely also be charged with murder.

It was learned the child had bruises from her forehead to her thighs. The Clark County Coroner’s office says the girl died due to multiple blunt force injuries, which means she was beaten to death.

She passed away on April 9 after she was taken to the hospital from an apartment complex on Charleston Boulevard near Hualapai Way. The child’ mother, Amy Taylor, had been out of jail on bond but was taken back into custody Friday morning. Judge Melanie Tobiasson signed off to allow Taylor to be possibly put under house arrest since she has not been charged with murder yet.

“Quite frankly, I feel like you should in custody without bail but as of now there’s no cases filed and you’ve bonded out on the other case however,” Judge Tobiasson said.

Taylor is due back in court on April 16.

There is a GoFundMe page set up to help LaRayah’s father with funeral expenses as well as a vigil planned in Sonora, California on Saturday.

The I-Team requested interviews with both suspects but did not receive an answer.
