LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man who died in a shooting following a fight in front of a home last week has been identified as 30-year-old Beau Jared Varney. According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Varney died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man facing a murder charge in that deadly shooting last Thursday morning is now facing additional charges of carrying a concealed weapon and being in possession of a stolen car.
According to Las Vegas police, a fight over property led to the shooting death of Varney early Thursday morning in the north Las Vegas valley. A 32-year-old man, identified as Daniel Guillen, was detained by witnesses at the scene until police arrived and took him into custody.
The shooting was reported at 3:47 a.m. at a home near Decatur and Rome boulevards, near the 215 Beltway.
According to a news release from Metro police, Guillen got into an argument with Varney outside of a home and shot him. Guillen was transported to Clark County Detention Center where he was booked for open murder.
Varney was taken to Centennial Hospital where he later died.
