Henderson residents encouraged to recycle live Christmas trees

Local News

Several locations will open after Christmas and accept live Christmas trees for recycling. The locations will be open from Dec. 26 to Jan. 15 during regular park or facility hours.

  • Acacia Park, 50 Casa del Fuego St.
  • Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Dr.
  • Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 Arroyo Grande Blvd.
  • Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
  • Mission Hills Park, 551 E. Mission Dr.
  • Morrell Park, 500 Harris St.
  • Pecos Legacy Park, 150 Pecos Rd.
  • Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr.

Before recycling, residents are asked to remove all decorations, lights tinsel and nails as these items can’t be recycled and could damage equipment. Only live trees can be recycled.

The trees will be chipped and the mulch will be used in city parks. Free mulch will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Pecos Legacy Park and Acacia Demonstration Gardens (located at Acacia Park). You must bring your own shovel and containers to pick up mulch. Last year, the city recycled more than 4,200 trees.
