Suspect identified in shooting near The Legacy Golf Club, died from self-inflicted gunshot wound

HENDERSON, Nev. (KLAS) — Henderson Police say the suspect in a shooting near The Legacy Golf Course died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Coroner has identified the suspect as 51-year-old Clarence Jackson of Henderson. The cause of death was determined to be perforating contact, gunshot wound of the head. The manner is ruled a suicide.


The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Ping Drive and Ram Crossing Way and a 52-year-old man was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Police say the shooting was the result of a verbal argument between two men at the golf course. The suspect, a 51-year-old man, was later discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Ping Drive was closed to through traffic in both directions from Rams Crossing Way until the investigation was completed.

Avoid the area.
