The Vegas Golden Knights have picked up Mark Stone from the Ottawa Senators. In exchange the Knights sent defensive prospect Erik Brannstrom, forward Oscar Lindberg and a 2nd round draft pick to Ottawa.
The Knights have traded for one of the top offensive players in the NHL.
Stone is a right-winger who has 62 points in 59 games this season. Stone, who is 26 years old, told TSN that he has agreed to an 8-year contract extension with the Knights that would pay him an average of $9.5 million per season. That would make him the highest paid player on the Vegas Golden Knights roster.
Knights General Manager George McPhee has a news conference scheduled for 4 p.m. today to discuss the deal.
