Some flights arriving and departing at McCarran International Airport are being delayed by as much as one hour due to the weather, according to the FAA.
The issue is the low ceiling over the Las Vegas valley. A fog advisory was issued around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning by the National Weather Service and ended around 10:30 a.m. However, low and heavy clouds and rain continue to hang around the valley causing some issues.
Visability, at times, has been less than a quarter of a mile.
“With the visibility issue that comes with the low crowd cover, flights have to be spaced out upon arrival an upon departures so that creates that kind of delay situation,” said Christine Crews, spokesperson, McCarran International Airport.
You are encouraged to check McCarran’s website to check on your flight.
Tuesday does happen to be one of the slowest days at McCarran.
