LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 27-year-old woman is facing a felony DUI charge after running off the road and hitting and killing a homeless person, Metro police said.
The crash was reported around 1:44 a.m. and caused the closure of southbound Eastern Avenue between Silverado Ranch to St. Rose Parkway until 7 a.m.

According to Metro police, Pearl Angob, was traveling south on Eastern in a Toyota Corolla when she lost control of the car and struck the curb causing it to go onto a business property and hit a homeless person. That person, who had yet to be identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Angob did remain at the scene. She was transported to University Medical Center for minor injuries and later booked into the Clark County Detention Center for driving under the influence resulting in death.
At one point during the investigation, another driver drove through the scene.
This is the 21st traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction since the beginning of the year.
